Nancy Phillips Braunhut is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist at the Soquel Center for Youth Mental Health (CYMH), where she practices under the supervision of Dr. Josh Greco.

Nancy has long been passionate about supporting underserved populations. After earning her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University, Fullerton, she facilitated literacy groups for clients at the East Valley Health Center. There, she saw how limited literacy could prevent individuals from advocating effectively for themselves. This experience inspired her to pursue a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Southern California.

For the next eighteen years, Nancy taught, tutored, and counseled students at Cabrillo College in Aptos, both in the classroom and individually. Drawing upon her clinical training, she became a founding member of the college’s Behavioral Intervention Team. She also served as Faculty Director of the HUB Learning Center and as Department Chair of Reading and ESL.

After witnessing increasing anxiety and other mental health concerns among students following the pandemic, Nancy felt called to return to clinical practice. She is delighted to be part of CYMH, where she specializes in working with adolescents and young adults. Nancy is passionate about developing strong therapeutic relationships and helping clients recognize their strengths, build confidence, and realize their potential.
